Shan Shui Conservation Center Announces Winners of the ‘With Snow Leopards’ Small Grant

From 25th July to 21st August 2022, the Shan Shui Conservation Center received 12 outstanding proposals for the ‘With Snow Leopards’ Small Grant (SLSG), from 4 countries covering research, capacity building and public education across the snow leopard range. These proposals not only pointed out conservation gaps, but also give their own solutions to specific conservation questions, making the small grant really competitive.

After careful expert deliberation, 3 projects were selected for the SLSG:

National Trust for Nature Conservation (Nepal)Status of Snow Leopards in Gaurishankar Conservation Area, Nepal
World Wide Fund for Nature (Pakistan)Building Ecological and Sustainable Transport/Linear Infrastructure for Snow Leopard Habitats in the Hindukush-Karakoram-Himalaya Landscape in Pakistan (BEAST)
Snow Leopard Conservation Foundation (Mongolia)Empowering Local Champions in Snow Leopard Landscape.

The Shan Shui Conservation sends its warmest congratulations to the winning projects, and deep appreciation for the other projects’ contributions to snow leopard conservation with hopes of possible collaboration in the future.

In order to promote snow leopard research and conservation across the snow leopard range, Tencent Foundation, Shan Shui Conservation Center, and the Amity Foundation together initiated the ‘With Snow Leopards’ Small Grant (SLSG) in 2022 and started this year’s call for proposal on 25th July 2022.
