2025 Tibet Earthquake Emergency Response

Please support the people affected by 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Tibet!

In response to the earthquake that occurred in Shigatse, Tibet, on 7th January 2025, Amity Foundation responded to the disaster by delivering essential necessities to the area, expecting that the delivery will be completed within the same night.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake happened at 9:05am, 7th January, 2025 at Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet. The earthquake affected approximately 6,900 people within a 20 km radius of the epicenter, which includes three towns and 27 villages. As of 3 PM, 95 people were reported dead, and 130 were injured.

Amity Foundation initiated an emergency response at 11 AM on 7th January, coordinating with local partners to procure and deliver essential supplies such as instant noodles, blankets, and warm clothing from Lhasa to the affected areas.

Within 5.5 hours, two relief has been completed. At 2:30 PM, the first batch of relief supplies (500 boxes of instant noodles, 200 warm clothing, and 200 blankets) was loaded and dispatched from Lhasa, expected to arrive in Dingri County by late night on 7th January. The second batch, including 500 flashlights, 500 boxes of compressed food, and 500 boxes of luncheon meat, was being procured and was expected to be dispatched by the evening.
