6th Amity Cup International Table Tennis Philanthropic Tournament Builds Friendships and Supports Charity in Nanjing

The 6th Amity Cup International Table Tennis Charity Tournament, held in Nanjing on November 14–15, brought together around 760 athletes from 23 countries, showcasing the power of sports in bridging cultures and supporting charitable causes.
Organized by the Amity Foundation as part of its 40th-anniversary initiatives, the tournament highlighted the power of table tennis to bring people together across borders. A newly introduced youth category drew large number of young athletes from different countries. They added a vibrant, multicultural dynamic to the competition.

Qiu Zhonghui, Board Chair of the Amity Foundation, emphasized that the tournament remains committed to using sports as a means to promote social good and international friendship. The event also carried forward the spirit of “Ping-Pong Diplomacy,” with speakers emphasizing how the sport continues to build mutual understanding and goodwill. Dr. Eugene Wood, President of Word4Asia, encouraged participants to see beyond the game and recognize the shared humanity and compassion that charity and sports can inspire.
Since its launch in 2018, the Amity Cup has adhered to a “Sports + Charity” model, raising over RMB 8 million to support a range of charitable programs. These include poverty reduction, youth education, support for the elderly, and vocational employment for people with learning difficulties.
More than just a competition, the Amity Cup has grown into a meaningful platform where sport fosters friendship, cultural exchange, and collective action for a better world.
