A Journey of Friendship and Cooperation: Amity Delegation Visited the U.S. and Hosted Meetings with Partners

At the invitation of partners, Amity Foundation delegation invited the United States from April 27 to May 8, 2026, marking its second delegation trip to the country after its first trip 20 years ago. Despite the challenges with Sino-U.S. relations, the objectives of the trip were to strengthen the relationship between Americans and Chinese and deepen its international cooperation network. During the 12-day visit, the delegation visited five cities including Nashville, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Chicago, launching a series of exchanges and cooperation initiatives. In addition, Amity co-hosted a meeting with partners in Chicago. The result of visit is fruitful.
The first stop was Nashville, where the Outreach Foundation hosted a welcome dinner at a board member’s residence for nearly 40 board members and their spouses.. Amity delegates shared updates on China’s development, Amity’s recent initiatives, and the China–U.S. Youth Exchange Program and received positive responses. At the Outreach’s board meeting the next day, a special session was dedicated to Amity’s work. The Foundation expressed interest in participating in Amity’s 40th anniversary commemorative activities and supporting the sixth “Amity Cup” Table Tennis Tournament. The senior management of the two organizations had separate a meeting and agree to establish strategic partnership and explore new channels for civil society exchanges.
In Indianapolis, the delegation visited the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, where Chairman Qiu Zhonghui and Secretary-General Ling Chunxiang delivered speeches and sharing. Faculty expressed their appreciation on Amity’s achievements and its contributions to United Nations, indicating
interest in launching exchange and cooperation programs for young scholars. Later that day, Amity held discussions with students from various countries, who proposed implementing public welfare projects in their home regions presenting new opportunities for Amity’s international work.
With assistance from the American Bible Society (ABS), the delegation visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. Although the museum hosts a vast collection, Chinese Bibles were notably underrepresented. Amity introduced its Bible printing ministry and donated a copy of commemorative Bible, sparking strong interest from museum leadership, who expressed interest in closer collaboration and agreed to start establishing regular communication.
On May 6, the meeting for North American Network of Amity Partners was held at the headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in Chicago. Attended by 35 representatives, the meeting included progress updates from Amity, thematic presentations from partners, and expert briefings. Amity proposed strategic areas for further cooperation. Partner representatives expressed their support for deeper collaboration and would keep strengthening the network
With two decades of friendship, Amity and its U.S. partners are hopeful to further strengthen the ties. Upholding a philosophy of openness, Amity will continue to open on strengthening strategic relationships and mutual trust, exploring innovative models of cooperation, and utilizing its flagship programs as platforms for cross-cultural exchange. Amity will play an active role in fostering the relationship and interaction between people in China and U. S. Through this, Amity hopes to contribute to building a community for a shared future of mankind.
