Amity's work was presented during a workshop on diakonia at the Tao Fung Shan Christian Center in Hong Kong. Participants from several Asian and European countries explored the future of diaconal ministries of the Lutheran Churches in Asia.

The Children-Amity Fund of Hope (CAFH) is a cooperative project run by the Amity Foundation and Children for a Better World e. V., a German organization working in China. Both organizations have agreed to cooperate on a Foster Care Project for orphans in state-run orphanages and a Rural Orphan Fostering Project.

Students from Yale joined together with college students from Hunan to conduct a summer camp for children of migrant workers in Nanjing.

Since the start of June 2007 heavy rain has pounded regions in Southern, Southwestern and Northwestern China. The continuous heavy rain has led to devastating flash floods, landslides and mudflows. Tens of millions of people are grappling with the aftermath. This is an overview over Amity's disaster relief work in the hardest-hit areas.
